Mission
We, the Clergy, the religious and the laity of the Diocese of Tarlac, in response to God's call to holiness, commit ourselves to a faithful life of renewal, sustained by prayer, service, openness to the Holy Spirit, and love for the Word of God and the sacraments; integral evangelization with preferential love for the poor and the oppressed, inspired by the Marian virtues of simplicity, humility, and obedience towards the attainment of justice, peace, love, and responsible stewardship of God's creation.
Goal
To foster integral renewal in the life and ministry of The clergy, religious and laity as well in the Diocesan structure itself.

Born: March 27, 1958, in Masantol, Pampanga, Philippines.
Studies: Completed philosophy and theology at San Carlos Seminary (Makati).
Ordained Deacon: March 15, 1982 (Archdiocese of San Fernando).
Ordained Priest: November 27, 1982.

  • Served as pastor in multiple parishes within the Archdiocese of San Fernando.

  • Spiritual Director & Philosophy Director at Mother of Good Counsel Seminary (San Fernando, Pampanga).

  • January 14, 2006: Appointed Titular Bishop of Erdonia and Auxiliary Bishop of San Fernando by Pope Benedict XVI.

  • Ordained Bishop: March 27, 2006 (his 48th birthday), with Cardinal Ricardo Vidal as principal consecrator.

  • June 2007: Became Executive Secretary of the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission on Family and Life.

May 15, 2012: Appointed by Pope Benedict XVI.
Installed: July 10, 2012.

December 29, 2024: Named 4th Bishop of Tarlac by Pope Francis (announced on the Feast of the Holy Family).
Installation: March 27, 2025, at Tarlac Cathedral, presided by Apostolic Nuncio Charles John Brown.

Pope Leo XIV

8 May 2025The Catholic Church welcomes its new spiritual leader as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, an Augustinian friar originally from Chicago, is elected Pope Leo XIV. Chosen on the second day of the conclave, the 69-year-old pontiff succeeds Pope Francis, who passed away on 21 April. In his first address, Pope Leo XIV emphasized themes of peace, unity, and joyful faith. The Diocese of Tarlac invites all faithful to join in prayer for our new Pope at all weekend Masses.
